The Raspberry Pi 2 Model B is the newest addition to the Raspberry Pi Family. It features a BCM2836 ARMv7 Quad Core Processor at 900MHz and  1GB of RAM. This makes the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B 6x faster than its predecessors and it has twice the memory.

It has the same board layout as the Model B+, so all cases and addon boards are compatible. GPIO is 100% compatible with the Model B+ and Model A+ boards and the first 26 pins are identical to the Model B and Model A boards to provide full backward compatibility across all boards.
